Course Objectives To introduce methods of assessing risk and hazard and show how safety of weapons can be demonstrated.
Detail Content Definitions, Implications of unsafe equipment relationship between risk and hazard, Specifications of risk and hazard, connection with reliability, Designing to reduce risk-stress strength modeling, Modelling – Fault Tree Analysis, FMECA, Reliability Block Diagrams, Testing and demonstrations, Calculating risk & hazard using Software. Quality control and quality assurance, Explosive legislation and regulations, Disposal of explosive ordnance, Principles of safe handling of explosives, ammunition and prepared charges, Sensitivity of explosives to mechanical and electrical shock, static, impact and thermal stimuli & Stability, compatibility of explosives and methods of assessment and storage life prediction.
