Course Objectives Course Objectives:
  • To understand the fundamental design principles of wastewater treatment.
  • To learn to treat wastewater for secondary and tertiary reuse.
Course Outcomes:
  • Modeling, designing and operation of wastewater treatment works for removal of pollutants using conventional as well as modern techniques to meet regulatory requirements.

  1. Municipal and commercial sources of wastewater ,  
  2. Flow   Estimations,  
  3. Physical, chemical and biological characteristics of wastewater
  4. Basic concepts in aerobic wastewater treatment and design
  5. Basic concepts in anaerobic waste water treatment and design
  6. Biochemical  reaction and rector design   
  7. Design   of   unit   operations.
  8. Principles   of   biological   and   natural   treatment   processes   and   design,
  9. Sludge treatment methods and disposal. 
  10. Plant hydraulics.
  11. Wastewater treatment for reuse.
