Pre-Requisutes
Course Objectives Objectives:     To highlight the effect of production and use, on the environment, of the various energy resources being used by man and discuss viable alternatives
Outcomes:     The student would become familiar with how the various conventional energy resources are generated. The environmental issues during the generation would be highlighted followed by the environmental pollution generated during the application and use of such energy resources. Alternate energy resources, their advantages and limitations with a look the future, would be discussed.
Detail Content Energy and its forms, energy resources, types, uses;merits and demerits of development and use of energy resources (coal, gas, petroleum, nuclear)local, regional and global impacts of the use of different energy resources, energy resources of Pakistan, non-renewable and renewable, patterns of energy consumption in Pakistan, Future energy scenario of world and Pakistan, sustainable energy management for agriculture, transport, industry and domestic sectors, alternate energy resources, merits and demerits of wind, solar, hydropower, bio-energy resources.
