Course Objectives The objective of this lesson is to review and cover fundamentals and problems of momentum, heat and mass transfer. The separation processes in chemical engineering will also be discussed.
Detail Content Momentum Transport: Viscosity and mechanism of momentum transport, Velocity distribution in Laminar flow, Equation of change for isothermal systems. Heat Transport: Viscosity and mechanism of heat transport, Temperature distribution in Laminar flow, Heat of conduction and convection. Equation of change for non-isothermal systems. Mass Transport: Diffusivity and mechanism of mass transport, Concentration distribution in Laminar flow, Equation of change for multi-component systems. Thermal separation processes: Distillation and Adsorption. Membrane separation processes: Membrane Processes, Modeling heat & mass transfer in membranes, Application of membrane processes in chemical industry.
